About
I’m Jacobus Brouwer, a first-year Yacht & Powercraft Design student at Southampton Solent University.
I design vessels that hopefully make you as happy as they do me — working across the full design spiral from initial concept through hydrostatic analysis to production-ready technical drawings. Currently my toolkit spans Maxsurf for hull modelling, AutoCAD for technical drafting, and hands-on model testing in the lab.
I’m building this site to share my work, document my learning, and connect with others in the maritime engineering and yacht design world.
Current Projects
Model Sailboat Design — Rating-rule-compliant sailing yacht. Hull hydrostatics complete in Maxsurf, now producing AutoCAD technical drawings. View project →
Inclining Experiment — Stability analysis of a box catamaran, investigating metacentric height and free surface effects. View project →
